My Comments --In bygone years, the slogan young people shouted was "Make Love, Not War"! The younger generation during WWII wouldn't dream of shouting such sentiments, but they sure didn't like the separations caused by that conflict. This reviewer lived her earliest years during that era and can testify that Tracie Peterson captured the angst felt back then by people faced with that war's horror. Memories captured in photos of tearful mothers, grandmothers and families parted eternally by war still lurk in the scrapbooks and diaries of our relatives and friends. This book, Tidings of Peace, brought it all back. For those who don't wish to revisit those memories, this book isn't one for you; but if you don't mind shedding an occasional tear, or even sobbing your heart out, "Tidings of Peace" is the book for you. These four stories by Tracie Peterson gave this reviewer a very satisfactory trip back in time. Five stars!
