From the Amazon product review:
In 'A Christmas to Remember' readers of 'The Calling of Ella McFarland' revisit Ella and her husband Andrew in the cottage along Rock Creek. Three years into their marriage, their life--and they, themselves--have changed. What could have prepared them for the challenges thus far? Or those ahead?
It's Christmas, 1908. And Ella's life is about to be transformed. Again.
Like sunlight shimmering off new fallen snow, "A Christmas to Remember" dazzles with excellent writing, compelling plot, and well-crafted characters. The heroine, Ella McFarland especially grabbed this reader. Since this is a Christian novel, the story reflects strong values and beliefs. Ella's husband is a minister in a Christian church, a fact that excuses the slightly preachy segments. Given that this is a novella, understandably, minor points of the story line needed to be summarized. Nevertheless, this incredibly well written story captured an entire afternoon and wouldn't let me put it down. I heartily recommend this offering by Linda Brooks Davis for your Christmas reading and gift list. I received a complementary copy of "A Christmas to Remember" from the Amazon website courtesy of the author and am under no obligation to provide a positive review, but how could I not? Linda Brooks Davis' writes an absolutely exceptional novella.
